Osterweil Co-op is a member of the ICC. It is geared at providing affordable housing to students who attend colleges and universities in the area.
We are primarily a vegetarian house though we do serve meat and non-veggie dishes. Meals are made by the members five nights a week.
Members share rooms with like-sexed members. We have five double rooms and three singles. Rooms are distributed on a seniority list determined by the number of semesters a person has lived in Osterweil.
The Osterweil house is a quaint, three-story brick-and-stucco building that dates back to post-World War II. It is located only two minutes from the University of Michigan.
Members are expected to give five or six hours of their time a week back to the house in the form of officer positions and other house works.
We encourage comments from those who have first hand experience with a community so that others may benefit from your experience. Please share information you think will be useful to other users of this site, in a clear, concise, and polite manner. Each community can choose to display all comments, display selected comments, or not to display comments (more info). Communities will be shown email addresses of those who comment so that they might communicate with you if they choose.
