Collectively we own & maintain a 40 acre beautiful tree filled forest in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, soon becoming the "Two-Family" eco-village we have manifested!! We are an environmentally sensitive farm that are partaking in lowering our carbon footprint building our homes by re-cycling, re-using and re-directing the use of building items from Craigs List, Free-cycle, co-ops, barter exchanges, free piles and the "RE-Store". This way we will not only SAVE money and FREE up space in the landfills but be a ROLE MODEL for those to follow!!
We are sisters with our families who want to build two homes using various materials, i.e., bamboo, harvested timber from property, Earth-Bag/Straw-bale, Rocket stoves, Clay ovens & root cellars for our outdoor kitchen making the impact as harmonious with nature as possible.
We have hosted several WWOOFers and plan to host more along the way to help further our organic vegetable, medicinal herb, lavender and shitake mushroom gardens, apple/pear/cherry/plum orchard, layer chickens & ducks, 40 acres of forest trailblazing & forest edibles, grey-water catchment, canning, cooking, baking & eating farm edibles!
Our semi-off the grid site will eventually demonstrate sustainable systems including a Bed & Breakfast lodgin in tree houses, yurts and earthbag homes, Culinary workshops & events, permaculture principles, vedic architecture, composting toilets, earthen architecture, fish farming/aquaponics, herbal medicine and more.
We are constantly discovering and learning to be stewards of the land along with our comrades in this long awaited passion in life!!
Bellingham, Seattle, San Juan Islands, Puget Sound and Vancouver B.C are all short drives, ferries and bike rides that offer kayaking, hiking, skiing and discovering the most beautiful places in the world!!
