Sabine River Homestead
Hemphill, Texas,
United States
Sabine River Homestead is located in the Deep East Texas Piney Woods , in the Sabine National Forest, a 5 minute walk from the Toledo Bend Reservoir. We are setting up a working homestead to support us and teach a better lifestyle. SAVE THE WORLD, RAISE OXEN. . There is a 15 acre homestead with a barn , pond and 4 bed room house already in place. There are lots of other possibilities, besides the gardens, milk goats, chickens, fruit trees, and berries already on the place, just need people that care and are willing to help care for them. We need people who are interested in starting new farm projects, or expanding the ones already started. We are also looking at commercial fishing, honey bee projects, food preservation, arts and crafts, woodworking, blacksmithing, goat cheese and soap making as well. Plans also include picnic areas with horseshoes and other outdoor games available. There are mountain bikes, a canoe, and a kayak available for recreational breaks. We have available 3 bedrooms in the main house, tent camping space, one teepee, and rv parking space. We wish to model this place after the "Homestead Heritage " place near Waco, Tx. Look it up on the internet , its a great place and one we wish to be like but smaller and in the east Texas forest .If you would like to know more, write Mike Hyles at P.O. Box 5 , Hemphill Texas 75948 or call 409-625-3641. Thank You ,,,, Also take a look at are web site www.sabinehomestead.org ,,,, Thank You
