 The goal of Oak Forest is to create a artists cooperative that focus's on personal creativity,growing organic food,and developing marketable products to sell at area farmers markets and craft-shows.The intention is to create low-cost housing that will foster personal enjoyment of area,a exchange of creative ideas,and hopefully a sense of community.Work has already begun on the garden areas, some of the art studio spaces,and planning for the main house is well developed.As of March, 2011 we plan to have the house completed, ready to go by August 1, 2011.

Our community fits the legal definition of "housing for older persons" * and thus we may restrict membership/residency to those of a certain age and may have limits on child membership/residency in accordance with the law. Our community does not discriminate based on race/color, national origin, religion, sex/gender, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ancestry, source of income, creed, personal appearance, political affiliation, HIV infection, military/veteran status, unfavorable military discharge, gender identity or expression, receiving public assistance, or domestic abuse.
