We are a family of five with 14 acres of land, looking for other like minded persons to partner with in a natural simple community. We'd like to meet others who are looking to live off grid, farm the land, raise animals, fish and hunt. There are neighboring acreages for sale at about $1000 an acre for anyone who would like to own their own land and be close enough to neighbors who they can rely on and share a similar life style. The lands in this area have few restriction, mostly regarding trash & derilic vehicles. Basicly do what you want, just keep it nice and clean and don't be a nusiance. You can have a mobile home,RV until you can build your own home. Eventually we'd like enough natural homes built for everyone.
The land is on various elevation from about 950ft to 750ft. We hope to build a cob house and small community buildings made from cob and other natural building materials. Because of the incline we plan on having mostly goats and sheep. One cow for home use and a couple chickens, rabbits and what ever else works out.
We have not moved to the land yet but hope to start on the community as soon as the weather permits. We have a 35ft fifth wheel trailer we will be moving out there and plan to have the cob house up before the next winter.
Our children are as follows, oldest boy 13, middle girl 12 and youngest boy 7. I hope to find other young families and gentel souls :) who are intrested in self sufficient living.
