| We are people who seek to have a child-like faith in the one who calls himself the Light of the world. The teaching of the Light that is the basis for our community is this..."A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:34-35) We are not fear based e.g. legal God; economic collapse, etc.; but rather seek to be love based, in righteousness.
We have left bible religion (defined as people listening to the bible instead of to Joshua [called Jesus] to try and please and be accepted by the heavenly Father) due to the falsehoods it is based on, and have seen our need to learn to lose our life in the world in order to find Life everlasting. Seeking to do this makes loving, and being loved by, other disciples a very special thing.
We seek to live by the words and teachings of Joshua of Nazareth alone. If he doesn't teach it or live it, then we don't either. This creates a freedom that is wonderful and essential to Family Life..."If you continue in MY word (not 'the bible'), then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." (John 8:31-32)
The primary thing that is necessary is to express love (selfless behavior motivated by a heart of compassion) towards all others. Only truly caring for one another in daily life can express the Family Life that the Light speaks of.
We have no leader other than Joshua. We each seek to live out his teachings, and to do this collectively. We make decisions collectively and based on Joshua's teachings only. People are free to come and go as they please. Nothing is required to become part of this Family/community except the desire to live by Joshua's teachings only.
With love must come a thrist for righteousness, which is for each of us to try and do what is right each day. Lazyness and expecting to be served is contrary to this and doesn't work.
We have no outward expressions of our faith other than the manner in which we are trying to live our lives...caring for one another and serving the Master Joshua by bringing him to others.
There are no dress codes (other than modesty, which is to not promote your body). We have no rituals. We are imperfect people seeking the perfection we are called to by Messiah. We read Joshua's words in the gospels together regularly. |
