A kya
Tropics
 A - meaning singular
Kya - meaning family
A-kya is an idea of paradise...
Think of a paradise when people can live in beautiful harmony with the earth, but with out sacrificing luxury.
[Imagine for a moment, waking up on a gorgeous beach with the rays of the warm sun shinning on your skin. The images from the night before still on your mind; a beautiful bonfire, you and other members of your new family gathered around, majestic music played acoustically, and maybe even a little coconut rum that was made right here at home.
You smile, and you feel good inside. You know the people around you, love you. You feel very content, you feel complete, and you feel a great sense of pride. As you start to rise you are welcomed with a delicious breakfast from your loved one or a friend; fruits, eggs, breads, meats, oats, and anything else you can think of... all grown, raised and per-paired right here on the island.
After a little mornings work you return to the beach to play some volleyball with your friends and bask in the sun or maybe spend your time in the water. If none of that sounds fun today you can always retire back to your own living quaters and watch a movie or read a book. You can take a hot shower and relax in your own bed... it's really all up to you.]
The whole idea is to create an entire society that will exist completely apart from the rest of the world. Small amounts of work will be required in the morning hours but the rest of the time will be to enjoy our paradise. We will have many things; electricity from green sources, farms that will grow many, many foods and host animals, independent living quarters, a teacher and a small school house for our children, the freshest seafood you could imagine....
These are just some of the perks we are working into the whole mix, but there is really so much more. We are people who believe in enjoying life and feeling great. We believe there is no reason why people need to go though life worrying and stressing every day about the things society has forced you to live with. Waking up to alarms everyday, finding jobs, consuming, dealing with complete idiots because of these things. People have health problems, mental problems, anxiety and panic attacks because these things aren't normal! People shouldn't have to deal with these levels of stress and misery.
We want to completely liberate ourselves and take everything back into our own hands. We want to be completely free and live a life of peace and enjoyment.
***Update: Jan 11th, 2012
While the ideas and ideals of A Kya will always remain the same the progress is forever changing. Where as 6 years ago I had not many opportunities to travel and seek out a place for this oasis in the sun as now I do. Next year I will be embarking on a backpacking trip around the globe; South America, Hawaii, Australia, Asia, Africa.
I've saved up about $30k and i'm going to travel until i complete run out of money. What I am looking for is a remote places. Something completely off the grid of ANY other social establishments. Complete seclusion. A place that has enough land for farming, building and gorgeous beaches. Fresh water or a means of converting sea water into fresh water. An island with a waterfall would be an ultimate for fresh water and power generation! A 30- 50 foot drop with a fall chute and 3 water turbines would be enough to power an entire village with 30-50 people no problem! >;)
As progress developes with this project I will do my best to keep this updated and keep you all posted on what is to come.
