| The Awakened Life Project is gradually being formed from the ruins of Quinta da Mizarela, once a small rural hamlet. The location is a beautiful secluded mountain valley above a dramatic gorge of cascading waterfalls in an ecological reserve in Central Portugal.
Residents are currently the founders Pete(UK)& Cynthia(USA, Adam & Mim(UK), Laura(UK), Glen(USA), Marko(Austria), Sara(Portugal).
The project is our creative response to the crisis of our tipping point times with the intent of being a beacon for our evolutionary future. Thus the foundation is a shared commitment to spiritual awakening and transformation beyond ego. This means being more interested in what is true than in how we feel, our opinions etc. It means taking responsibility for our deepest recognition and understandings so that we can become vehicles for the evolution of consciousness itself. This bold endevour requires commitment, honesty, passion, trust and results in profound unity and purpose.
The founders have a total of almost 30 years combined experience in intensive contemporary spiritual community. Much has, and continues, to be learned about individual and collective evolutionary potential. We believe that the consciousness of our age calls for a God principle that lives not just in the wonderous beauty of nature, or the eternal stillness of the present moment, but in the unknown creative potential that exists in the space of the future. Hence this is a place to BE and BECOME all we can be for the sake of Life itself.
We are dedicated to rejuvenating the farm in the spirit of communion and cooperation with Nature, and in the process hope to make ourselves as self-sufficient as possible and live from the bounty of our own land.We have embraced the principles of permaculture as an invaluable guide on this journey of off-grid sustainable living.
We are now 8 people and are not actively seeking more members, although as we renovate more buildings there is potential for more permanent residents. We are mainly interested in people who want to be long-term volunteers. | Community location is placed at the center of the zip/postal code, city/state, or city/country (not based on street addresses) |
