We are forming a small intentional community based on primal, sustainable living and natural health and diet on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are inspired by Dr. Graham's 80-10-10 lifestyle and will be practicing it in our community.

The property is over 30 acres and rests in a lush volcanic jungle, within walking distance to the sea. It is developed and ready, with an infrastructure of buildings, huts, and systems that can readily support our small community. In fact, the whole place is self-sufficient with a solar system, rain catchments, composting privies, and incredibly abundant food. Our only outside utilities are internet and phone and we have both.

There are hundreds of mature fruit-bearing trees all ready for us! Durian, mango, avocado, banana, sapote, jackfruit - just to name a few! All of it is organic - the mineral-rich volcanic soil may be the best growing medium on Earth. This is a fruit-lover's paradise. And we do grow loads of organic greens and nuts, too.

We will practice sustainable permaculture. We wish to live in harmony with the planet rather than in competition with her. And so we are creating a small and intimate community of just 12 members (families). We want to ensure abundance for all while limiting the impact we have on the natural environment.

I should mention that Dr. Graham is a partner in the project; he is, in fact, one of the two founding members. 2 of the 12 spots are already filled, one by my family, another by Dr. Graham. Visitor Process: We are not set up to host visitors at this time but will update our listing as soon as we are (we are eagerly looking forward to having visitors in the near future).

Population Members(adults and children): (We plan to have 12 member slots (which will consist of individuals, couples, and families)) Non-member Residents: 0 (This may change in the future, however.) Open to new members: Yes (Once we fill our available slots, we will be closed until/unless a new slot becomes available.)	Government Decision Making: By majority rule (9/12 member votes majority) Identified Leader: Yes (Co-Founders Rich & Dena Givens and Dr. Douglas Graham) Leadership Core Group: Yes (A Community Council, which is comprised of one person from each member slot (for a total of 12))	Labor and Money Financial Style: Members have independent finances Open to Members with Pre-existing Debt: Yes Labor Contribution: Expected (Since we are all sharing in the land's bounty, we ask that all members participate in maintaining the land and our common spaces.) Join Fee: Yes (There is no cost for an initial application, although there is a minimal fee to continue the application process, if accepted ($75). If both parties (applicant and co-founders) are agreeable to proceed to accepting applicant as a member, we then require a membership fee which entitles the buyer to become an equal partner (member of the company which owns the land).
