La Buena Vida Farm
Portal, Arizona,
United States
La Buena Vida Farm is a small homestead family farm. We practice authentic, sustainable and organic growing methods. It is our goal to provide a diverse seasonal selection of homegrown produce, naturally raised meats, eggs and honey as well as additional farm products throughout the year for our family and local community. We strive to enrich and replenish the land of which we are blessed to be stewards. Our farm encompasses 36 acres of bio diverse high desert with an emphasis on native growth. We currently have approximately two acres of cultivated vegetable garden. La Buena Vida Farm is a fully functioning farm with sales at farmers markets. Our farm is located in Arizona’s pristine San Simon Valley, nestled between the Chiracahua and Peloncillo mountains, 45 miles north of Douglas.
We are open to expanding our on-site community to those who desire to be part of a God-centered, agrarian lifestyle. Our new buildings will be constructed from local materials with responsible practices in mind. Our current housing consists of a main farmhouse with a large commercial-style kitchen and indoor/outdoor type of great room areas where we gather for meals and fellowship. We also have a couple of fifth wheel trailers for temporary housing needs.
Our time is divided between raising heirloom vegetables, heritage breed animals, and our three children, as well as site construction, learning more about utilizing our natural resources and embracing the Word of God. We adhere to Christian values, and seek to follow the example of Jesus and the life explained about in the Bible. Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions.
