Thunder Bay is a twin city situated on the northern shores of Lake Superior. It has a population of 110 000 and is considered by many the gateway to the north in this part of the world. Myself and two roommates live in a large three bedroom wooden house with an open space with high windows over looking a small river at the edge of the property. Because of the relatively small size of Thunder Bay compared with other cities even though we are at the outskirts between a river and an open field it is only a five minute car ride to the center of town. We're thinking of buying the property and building a greenhouse. Their is also a small shed by the river that can be renovated. We're looking for people who may be interested in helping to buy the house and build a greenhouse. Also we're thinking of starting an art gallery for our online art gallery: browndwarf.ca
Our intention is to be a place for building community. Our plans for this include hosting different events such as: live performances, jams with emphasis on the learning of rudimentary music theory, Yoga meetings, martial arts groups, meditation sits, experimental hypnosis meetings (In the future we plan to buy a sensory deprivation tank), For the summer time there are no chip trucks in Thunder Bay so buying a chip truck and doing the rounds is also a possibility. Other community events include, Dances, trapper meetings, potlucks, lectures, Story telling nights, poetry nights, Musicology nights, creative collaboration type meetings that encourage free thinking, free association, ebullition, brainstorming and just engaging the imagination in many ways, movie nights with a digital projector (movies including obscure short films as well as films by the masters of cinema like Jim Sheridan, Andrei Tarkovsky, René Laloux, Robert Bresson, Errol Morris, Michelangelo Antonioni, Akira Kurosawa, Darren Aronofsky, Hayao Miyazaki, Ingmar Bergman, Martin Scorsese, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders, Charlie Kaufman, Jane Campion and more.
