The Deep Edge Community
Kensington, California,
United States
The Deep Edge Community is an intentional community of young adults who are committed to sharing and practicing mindfulness. Each week, an individual in the community prepares a meal for the others while another individual prepares an activity for the evening (i.e. games, music, intentional conversations, affirmations, etc.). In addition, we take turns leading “prayer” once a week in which we gather for a mindful practice (i.e. meditation, music, qi gong, prayer, taize, etc.). Weekly chores and monthly finance meetings are also part of our communal commitments.
Although we are rooted in the Christian tradition, we are open to all different kinds of faith traditions, eager to broaden our spiritualities. Since two of us are in the discernment/ordination process in the Episcopal Church (New Hampshire and Los Angeles Dioceses) and the Tao Te Ching is one of our community's favorite sacred books, we can be called 'Yin and Yanglicans.'
Also, we have a small guest room for anyone interested in exploring intentional community or enjoying the beautiful Berkeley hills.
