La Paz Eco Village
La Paz, Baja California Sur,
Mexico
(Village site north of Todo Santos)
We are presently in the process of closing the deal on a 140.81.20 hectares (350 acres) site for the co-creation of an ecologically sound village project outside of Todo Santos, Baja California Sur - Mexico.
We are considering inviting 20-50, possibly up to 100 as it progresses, people committed to this projects' creation which will include: organic gardening; all of the arts; alternative energy projects; festivals and events; wholistic healing center & workshops; eco tours with plants and various species identification and uses; a multi-media center with recording studio...
This community will be a-political and a-religious, with each person/family having their own homes with sufficient surrounding areas for privacy. Each must be kept in as ecologically sound state as possible and their power supplied via solar and wind energy. No use of chemicals or habitat destructive substances or acts is the rule.
The site being purchased already has considerable work done on it, including a main building in place totaling 1,148.63 sq. meters, with 6 bedrooms (3 first floor and 3 second floor) which are 5 x 3.9 meters and each have bathrooms measuring 3.73 X 2.10 meters, kitchen (with a half bathroom) and dining room areas measuring 5X6 meters each, main hall suitable for small events which is 6 X15 meters and a main salon that is 4.7 X 12 meters. The construction needs completion for interior finishing and stucco exterior, but the structure is a large and in place two story building which can be added to. All rooms but the bedrooms have 6 meter high ceilings. It is already set up to run on solar energy with a battery bank in place, needing the panels.
Other structures are also in place, including a fairly complete 2 bedroom house that is 154 sq. meters (needs a new roof covering). Several Palapas (palm thatched shade areas) are in place that total 270 sq. meters of shaded areas, one with a trailer home beneath it.
An orchard which includes mangos, papayas & plums is in place and producing. Other garden areas are also ready to go. Various ponds exist and others are in place to catch water during rainy season.
There are only 5 neighboring family ranchos in the immediate area and the Sierra de Laguna World Heritage Bio-Reserve (A UNESCO/United Nations program) abutts one side of the property.
