* SEEKING RENTERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS *
At the Ark Community Co-op we strive to live together in harmony as a community household and a resident-owned and operative cooperative. We utilize consensus decision making and strive to apply a deep sense of interconnectedness and permaculture values to the entirety of what we do in psyche, heart and land.
In General
We strive to create a culture of respectful relationships, growing healthier people in minds, hearts and bodies. We value individuality and we know we all thrive when we share our strengths. We don't subscribe to the old-world philosophies of "us vs. them" or "me over you," instead preferring to work together horizontally. We intend to become increasingly better at cooperating in our evolving strategies to heal ourselves, each other and the forest and to meet our needs as individuals, as the group and for the well being of everyone, everywhere.
Where we are now
We just completed our first year after our success in a major transition: from a single nonresident owner property to multiple resident owners. With these new responsibilities and opportunities, the community is growing in its capability to work together with each other and with the land. We seek a balance of influences in our housemates that will support us as a group in becoming healthier, more conscious individuals to benefit ourselves, each other and ultimately the world. Currently we are a 3 women and 6 men. Aged mid-twenties through mid-fifties.
Who you are
While it's unlikely any one new member would put the whole in balance completely, *ideally* our new housemates would possess the following attributes:
-In your 30's or older - elders encouraged to apply!
-Towards the feminine side of the gender spectrum.
-Previous experience in community, consensus process and conflict resolution.
-Excited about participating in some shared meals, nonviolent communication circles, and community projects: land, garden, building, art, music, dance, theatre, science, energetic, magic, whatever!
-Committed to peaceful process, and good at maintaining communication without getting angry easily.
If you don't meet some of these, but still would like to participate in the living and learning experience here at the Ark, please do reply. No dogs or cats. If you have allergies, there is a cat here. (Als
