Salt Spring Centre of Yoga
Salt Spring Island, British Columbia,
Canada
Inspired by master yogi Baba Hari Dass, the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga begun in 1981 is the oldest spiritual retreat centre on Canada's west coast. We run yoga retreats and yoga teacher training programs, and also rent our facility to like-minded groups. Almost all work done at the Centre is on a volunteer (karma yoga) basis and we have a large and popular Karma Yoga Service and Study program with three sessions each year. We have from 20 -50 residents during our nine month season and a small residential community of about five people from November through February.
We own 69 acres of arable land in the heart of scenic Salt Spring Island. Six acres are farmed organically and most of the produce goes to our kitchen for residents and guests. We have a small alternative school (K-6) and a wellness centre providing ayurvedic and other treatments.
We welcome applications for our Karma Yoga Service and Study program. For details of this and other opportunities to stay at the Centre (such as Yoga Teacher in Residence, facility rental, personal retreats, farm yogi) please see our website at www.saltspringcentre.com
