Elbereth
Catskill Mountains, New York,
United States
We are a family of 6 looking to co-create or join a sustainable community/homestead. We do not have land yet. Currently we are in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, however we are open to relocating. We offer professional level skills in electrical, plumbing, alternative energy and child education. We also are skilled in gardening, nutrition, cooking, food preparation, preserving, alternative fuels, mechanics, woodworking (timber frame and finish), pottery, art, and science. We currently have a contracting business for high efficiency and alternative heating systems. Jennine was a teacher for 10 years and holds degrees in elementary, science and art education. Currently Jennine is a student of herbal medicine. She also makes Waldorf dolls and beautiful traditional moccasins. We studied earth shelter, earth roofs, and cord wood with Rob Roy and would love to build an earth shelter. We are self educated in the practical science of "metabolic typing", Weston Price/ Nourishing Traditions as well as raw foods and realize we have a lot to learn (and teach). Our interests are in family, love and light, homeschooling, home birthing, happiness, sustainability, permaculture, wild harvesting, wild fermentation, gardening, four season harvest, action, spiritual growth, community, health, and survival. We are not vegetarians, but also do not consume much meat. What we do consume we do so with great respect and appreciation. Currently our thoughts are to have chickens and a dairy cow, however we are open to alternatives as long as they are sustainable. We tend to be very creative and innovative. We listen, adjust, bend and grow. We utilize technology as much as needed but would like to improve our knowledge and skill in hand tools, earth and foraging. We want to learn what was forgotten. Health, quality of life, good water, and real food are important to us. Homemade bread and music(update-lately our diet has shifted away from modern wheat and other fillers, but we still bake bread!). We have some cash, tools and equipment including a complete 3.5kw solar system which will move with us. We do not have TV but do use computers. We are looking for like minded families/individuals/communities to share and celebrate our time on this living planet. Currently we are a family of 6. Mom (37), dad (42), 2 boys (4, & 10) and 2 girls (NB & 2). We are all healthy. Drug, alcohol, smoke, drama free. Thanks for reading.
Blessings, ron and Jennine
