We are Bible-believing hippies seeking to build a community of like-minded families to share life with in a rural setting. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child. We also believe that Christians are meant to live in community (see Acts 4:32), and break bread together (Acts 2:46). We believe that we are stewards of this Earth and that God has asked us to take care of the Planet and not to destroy her.
We would seek some sharing of finances but not all. We seek as much self-sufficiency as possible (mostly because it's fun). We seek environmentally friendly practices and living gently on the Earth.
We envision a land of rolling hills and beauty. With livestock, woods, and organic food production. We see separate, privately-owned, small eco-houses and a common house for community gathering and hosting of guests. We desire consensus-based decision making, meal sharing on a regular basis and possibly cottage businesses that supply some or all of the community's economy.
We would like this community to be located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. There is an Intentional Community located in Eastern Ohio that we may consider joining that shares our values and is currently seeking several new members.
Please get in touch with us so we can chat. We look forward to hearing from you!
