A bit sketchy these days eh? All sorts going on. Lots of questionalbe stuff. What to rely on?

How about yourself, with a bit of help from your friends?

Got a bit tucked away, but not enough to pull it all together & find privacy & something you have more control over? We do NOT want your money. The fact that you have something tucked away is indicative of a few things.... initiative & forethought amongst others.

Here's the deal:

We put up $400k for land, buildings, greenhouse, equipment & building supplies & a lot of hard work already invested, you put up $2k which you use to feed yourself until we are more fully set up & in production. First we start to build your accomodation, get the greenhouse more fully set up & going for the season (alread planting in early January!) & work on various other tasks getting varous projects going. We work at looking out for - and after - each other, thus the preference for young family with kids (as, other than hunger, what creates greater commitment, than kids?)

Glamourous it is not, nor easy.

Then again, how much do you see of either these days?

But it's a decent, honest living.

How about relibility? Someting you can depend on? A safe place for your family? Something over which you actually have some control? See much of that out there?

Nothing earth shattering. Small and personal by design, what it lacks in pizazz it makes up for in simplicity, reliability, cleanliness and decency.

Compensation: Exactly what WE make of it, together. Rather than "making a buck", we directly & quite literally make a living. Recognizing what we are being "fed" by the man, don't you have a lot more confidence in yourself and those you trust and can deal with directly? We do.

Resources: Everyone has someting to offer. A landless young family has the energy, we have the capital invenstment in land, equip and much experience. Together we continue to create & grow .... something we can all count on, long term. But that takes commitment, effort & hard work. It's got to work for everyone, which is exactly what we are looking for.....

Experience: Not an absolute, but helpful. Foremost it's attitude. Aptitude & experince certianly don't hurt. A whole range of skills could potentially be useful, but in general the more practical skills are most useful. Effort for the common good. What we are into isn't Eignstienean stuff, it just takes clear thinking, knowledge, experience, application & effort... just like life.

We seek young, intelligent, reasonably fit, motivated people of talent with a bit of foresight.

Seeking Community. Seeking an Alliance

We, like others, have no desire to be part of the inevitable social upheaval coming down the pike. Luckily, this was foreseen some ago, so, it was out of the burbs, and onto 5 acres, build a big greenhouse, a cabin in the woods, a few animals, and yes, farm organically. Looking after ourselves as much as we can, keeping it closer to home anyway, with considerably more control over the basics of life and a somewhat more mindful stance.

Labour is the pinch. We have the basics. Materials, equipment, land, big greenhouse (30'x55'). Between my wife & I we’ve a wide range of experience, materials & equipment & more, but doing it alone, that’s the push.

So, we’re looking for a long term alliance. Exchange basis for a nice cozy little cabin in the woods, etc, in exchange for work on our property, building, together, first the cozy little cabin (for you) & getting the greenhouse into full production, and then we take it from there. For the first month or so, you will have to commute, camp in the ‘back 40’, or whatever (got a camper?), but, set up right, that can be comfortable & we of course will help. It’s got to work for everyone…. Not for the faint of heart, nor the aged. Early 30’s max, thanks. It will be on an exchange basis for the cabin in the woods for a start, then for work in the greenhouse, field and with the animals.

Again, it’s got to work for everyone, so we have got to maintain a balance so that neither is more than minimally indebted to the other. There may be opportunities to make some additional cash, but the basis of this Alliance is security of the basics. Decent clean accommodation and a reliable source of REAL food. Initially one could hold down a job and we work together on your days off. Or, maybe you are a couple and…………whatever, we work it out together and it’s all clearly laid out so that there are no misunderstandings. Mutual respect of person, property, dignity, privacy, value, beliefs, effort. You scratch my back & I’ll scratch yours

We have lots of building & growing to do, and, to keep the social mess that is presently unfolding, ……….at arms length, is, to us, most valuable.
