We are a forming community that is currently looking for land in northeast Texas (near Nacogdoches). We are open to other areas as well.
Our primary goals:
To be a community of people living with and from the land, making as little impact on our surroundings as possible.
To have our food come from our land and other local sources vs. food trucked in from thousands of miles away.
To live a simple life style resembling that of our distant ancestors, minimizing our dependence on oil.
We would like to form a nonprofit company selling used books (to start) that might be a way of income for all members. The community will be egalitarian, sharing responsibilities equally among all members. We have many ideas about the future, and because our resources will be tapped in order to maintain our current lifestyle, we would like to have a variety of sustainable incomes, as well as sustainable energy.
