oh dear
This prospective community will be specific in ways that others aren’t. I’m interested in collaboration with folks who have the following in common in their lives:
• People who aren’t looking for yet one more reminder of how they don't fit in.
• People who actually want out of the system, who don’t want to feel helpless in a society that doesn’t want them. People who’ve had it with the downward spiral of a dead-end mainstream life.
• People who’ve worked hard for what they have, but do not value a system that rewards greed and mindless consumption.
• People who work hard but cannot find a place in the current intentional community projects because they lack a history of financial stability and affiliation with the correct socio-political organizations.
I don’t see a lot of welcome in other ICs towards the invisible American Untouchable.
I’m looking not for revolutionaries, not necessarily for activists, but for folks who have no one but themselves to rely on—eccentric, disabled, culture-fatigued, or melancholy. What makes you different in a world that demands conformity or collectivism? Would you like to have something to call your own for once—your own space, privacy, dignity, and time to pursue your own interests?
This is an “ease of living” prospect. I'm looking for those of us who are afraid to commit to communities only to be ostracized by yet one more group. Free-thinkers and underground intellectuals are welcome and wanted here.
I'm asking those of you who read this and identify if you would like to pool resources and start an outsiders’ community—a place for those familiar with rejection, living off the scraps and leftovers of society’s “pre-selected” success stories who will never respect your contributions or your existence. Instead, let’s contribute to each other’s success.
This is not a cult or a social science project, nor is this a promise of paradise. This is just a way out of the current situation for those who want it and are willing to work for it. A simple choice: to live a simpler, purer life, or to tread the hamster wheel.
All I’m looking for is a practical place to coexist. We can take our collective underemployment wages and buy land and shelter as needed to start. Before the housing bust I worked in architecture, so as long as you have a skill or are willing to learn, we can build this together.

I have e-mailed the group today and look forward to hearing back. The description resonates with me, and the name itself is warm and inviting.

I emailed this group yesterday and haven't heard from anyone. The message really resonates with me and expresses what I beleive to be the situation for many of us today and even more tomorrow.
