| Save Humanity! Immerse yourself in healthy simplified living! Entropy Pawsed is a nature-linked low energy living demonstration site and community in a rural remote valley of the Yew Mountains, 25 miles north of beautiful historic Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Bonnie and Frank's journey to Entropy Pawsed began in May of 1993 when Bonnie answered Frank's personal ad in the Columbus (OH) Dispatch: “DWPM, 40, seeks Vegan female, into Truth, with an IQ greater than 130.” We subsequently met and have continued our lives’ journey together. We moved to rural Hocking County, Ohio in 1994, and progressed from gardening, to organic gardening to permaculture. In addition to growing abundant garlic and planting many perennials, we tapped our sugar maples and made syrup, kept chickens and bees, inoculated and harvested from shiitake logs, utilized a sawdust composting toilet system, collected and heated with wood, and developed a growing awareness of the need to simplify our lives and live more lightly on the earth.
At the suggestion of friends, we looked to West Virginia, and found 37 acres with an unfinished cabin about 25 miles north of beautiful, historic Lewisburg, West Virgina. We moved there the summer of 2003, living in an 18 foot geodesic dome tent while we worked on the property's unfinished cabin.
When it became apparent we would be unable to finish our cabin before winter, new friends at a nearby nonprofit invited us to spend the winter in one of the unoccupied bedrooms in the staff accommodation. One thing led to another, and by the next spring Bonnie and Frank were the land caretakers for the nonprofit, hoping to imbed their Entropy Pawsed project within the larger project they now were caretaking. In August, 2007 Bonnie and Frank left the nonprofit to return to the Entropy Pawsed. However, during their four year detour, both enjoyed the fruits of success in developing, and implementing a highly successful and sought after alternative break program for college students, as well as educational programing for groups of medical students and general visitors. Bonnie and Frank now look forward to putting their life experiences to work at Entropy Pawsed. http://www.EntropyPawsed.org
Entropy Pawsed has two wonderful, free of charge events coming up! Registration is required at both events and donations are accepted to help defray out of pocket expenses such as food. The first event is the Spring 2009 Open House that will start noon April 25th, 2009, with tours of the property, and some mini workshops on sawdust toilet and small solar electric systems. Camping is available for a limited number of attendees. Entropy Pawsed will have a campfire and cookout/potluck in the evening, and impromptu music and more. Bring your instruments! See website for more information at www.entropypawsed.org for more details and printable brochures.
The second event takes place from June 11th, 2009 through June 14th, 2009 and is being organized by Entropy Pawsed in West Virginia, the Peace Communities, a coalition
of progressive groups nationwide, and independent healthcare justice organizers nationwide.
It is called ‘Reuniting, Recreating and Relocalizing 2009.’
