The Abode is an intentional community founded about 30 years ago and thriving today as a communal residence and retreat center. It maintains an organic farm, a meditation center, and a schedule of programs and courses. Many members of the community are part of the Sufi order. Others are just people of spiritual and nature consciousness who want a shared living experience. On the main campus is a wonderful small private elementary school (Mountain Road School) and the Flying Deer Nature Center.
There are many members of this community and associates of this community who own homes within walking distance of the main campus.
The house on the website is one of the homes independently owned and occupied by Abode community members. There is an apartment in the house with a new kitchen and bathroom that is now available for rent by someone interested in becoming a part of the Abode community.
