We currently live in Houston, TX. And, we are tapping our feet at the anticipation of moving North of Del Rio, TX. I am bound to the city for a little while longer, but dream of the day that my family can begin our homesteading life. We will be off and running by Summer 2011. I have been reading a ton of books about the great things that I want to incorporate into our lives, and now is the time to start implementing them...everything from being self-sustainable, growing our own vegetables, raising animals, making cheese and soap...in general, getting our family back to basics. My children are already homeschooled, and I look forward to carrying that on. It will be a learning process for us, but it will be better for us and our mark on the world. We have the land, and the possibility for earning an income. But, it is going to be a lot of work. We are looking for a couple of like minded people that need room and board (beginning June 2011, and not before) in exchange for labor/help during our set up process, and possibly longer.
