This community is my idea of having a true barter system for those who have skills and needs such as lawyers, teachers, and others who have extra housing, rooms, or cottages on their property. My hope is that they are willing to exchange such housing in a compassionate, kind-hearted, generous manner with others who have a need for housing and will provide skills in the areas of cooking, housecleaning, childcare, homeschooling, and any other home skills they can offer. I pray for someone who may have an estate or similar property who will be gracious to start this process. My vision is that professional people who earn good salaries can accommodate extra people to live with them, in outside cottages, for example, or in private rooms and quarters in their homes, while attending to the many necessary household and childcare needs of the professional. Instead of paying for nannies, household help, gardeners, and homeschoolers, the professional worker can have all that done for free in a barter/trade/exchange living situation that benefits people who have those skills. This can take on some qualities of the Kibbutz where you can work in the area you are best suited for in exchange for housing. This community will need a kind benefactor who has some sort of estate with a need for skilled people who can have private, simple rooms and a measure of independence. Southern California is a good place to start, or any areas that are near gardens, water, and trees.
