 We have tried to gel a community several times but are finding the processing very disruptive to our children therefor we are putting our IC on hold for now. We to accept sort term guest as noted below.
Hamakua Harvest is a 14 acre mostly organic farm (No herbicides or pesticides) commercial orchard located on the Hamakua coast (North East) of the Big Island. We currently grow guava for the wholesale juicing market. However our goal is goal is to establish a self sufficient diversified farm where we can help educate others
We live off grid (No utility lines, electric, phone, or cable TV). We do have limited electric via Solar and backup generator. We have catchment water for washing dishes, and showering, we use an in-ground compost toilet (outhouse). No TV, Internet, Phone lines( If you have Verizon or ATT Cell it should work)
We are looking for people seriously interested in working hard to establish a earth friendly sustainable agro based business. Have space for up to two woofer, each with their own bunk cabin. In exchange for 15 hrs of work per week we provide a cot in a clean, dry bunk houses. You are responsible for your meals, or if you prefer. You can eat meals with the family for $10 per day (When we eat out your are on your own). We require a minimum of 2 week
