| Shadowlands is a new senior cohousing community forming to develop within a one-hour drive of Lexington, Kentucky. We are a small group of age 50+ artisans, apprentices, and family members who are choosing a different path for the second half of our lives. The traditional models of senior housing do not appeal to us.
We choose to control our future. We want to live in an old-fashioned community—one where neighbors know and care about each other and work together to meet some of their own needs. We want to live surrounded by people of like mind, grow some of our own food, and create art and practice our crafts surrounded by nature.
We are pooling our talent, skills, experiences, and resources to plan and build a community where we can “age in place” while enjoying active, productive lives in a thriving, caring community.
