Alaska Settlement Project
Remote, Alaska,
United States
Seeking to establish a semi-primitive settlement in remote Alaska. We will be off the grid and in touch with nature. The goal is to purchase a property to create a settlement for 10-25 people initially, then to attempt to replicate the process with others.
We will hunt, fish, forage and grow foods organically. Our goal will be to create a sustainable and ethically sound settlement that we can eventually use as a model for others.
Decisions will be made as a group and will follow an egalitarian/tribal model. Everyone will take an equal share in the initial expense and (hopefully) the long term rewards. A land trust or Non-Profit model will be considered.
Work will be on an as capable basis, with everyone fulfilling whatever role our social contract with one another dictates.
The aim is not Utopia, but a humble, sustainable and happy group of people thriving on clean land, breathing clean air and drinking clean water. If you are interested, please contact for more details. Since the group is just forming, experts in many fields will be needed.
Please, serious inquiries only. There will be an initial expense for the acquisition of land - though, thanks to Alaska's wide-openess - that expense may be nowhere near what one might fear.
