The Dragonmill is a place like from ancient times. Dragonmill Island is surrounded by floodplains, alders, ditches, small creeks, fields, woods, and a tumulus. Just across the ditch, in direct neighbourship, there is a protected area for spring, blossoms, and flowers. Since 2007, the Nature Island of her Dragonmill is in the middle of a Flora and Fauna Habitat (FFH) area of the European Union, for the preservation and further cross-linking of passages (for the wolf) and habitation areas for flora and fauna in the whole of Europe!

A bit further in our bioregion are the Collm Vulcano, hill graves, stone circles, and a lime tree, more than 1,200 years old. The Mill itself, as it stands now, was rebuild around 1849, from boulders and slate. What was before it is a secret showing up slowly: the first proof of humans here, dating back approximately 150,000 to 200,000 years. There was a stone axe, found just behind her Mill, that is now in a Dresden museum. Besides this, there were finds from the entire history of the last thousands of years—like 5,000 years.

On the property of the monument-protected Mill still stand a big nice old baking house, granary, barn, vault stables, beehive, and a picturesque chicken house. All the buildings are settled around a paved and herb-covered court. The property of five hectares is divided into yard and buildings, grassland, fruit meadow, forest (with a tumulus), and the system of ditches and streams for her Dragonmill. Our 11 goats and 6 sheep help us with the extensive landscape conservation; above all, they give us fresh milk, wool, and their daily animating “meck, meck, meck,” and sometimes meat and skins. A small crowd of ducks and chickens take care of the snails and process our leftovers on the compost pile, which is what brings us fresh eggs to use for baking and such. Mmmmh. We plan to have four water buffalos for thy forest work and a milk cow family.

And what i really want is bioregional animism, permaculture, juggling and sustainability. I desire to be living in a world where all humans take care of their environment, in order to make a life near to nature possible for future generations, with the aid and co-creation of all of the other-than-human persons that compose our bioregion, so that our relationships with the source of our being is reciprocal and sacred in nature.
