The Homostead
Atlanta, Georgia,
United States
We are an off-the-grid urban homestead and cooperative located in East Atlanta. We use solar power, rainwater catchment, and propane and woodburning stoves. Our space includes a hoop-house style greenhouse, chicken coop, and large vegetable and flower garden.
We are committed to principles of cooperative living, social justice, and building alternative, non-capitalist economies. We specifically strive towards building a space and community that is anti-racist, feminist, queer and trans-positive, anti-ableist, and in solidarity with those resisting oppression in our community and elsewhere.
We are not open to new members at this time but are always happy to meet other gardeners, homesteaders, community builders, artists and activists, and like-minded friends. We are also happy to show people around the property and host visitors for short stays.
