White Rock Crossing
Dallas,, Texas,
United States
White Rock Crossing is an ecohousing community located one mile from White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas. We own a beautiful three-acre site with a heavily-wooded creek and a green belt at the rear of the property for privacy and beauty.
Our site is in a charming and safe Lake Highlands neighborhood. It is adjacent to a bus stop and near Dart Rail for public transportation. It is near Doctors Hospital, good schools, Northwest Highway shopping, Casa Linda shopping, and the recreation and beauty of White Rock Lake. Downtown is also nearby by auto or Dart.
We are a community of 17 townhomes built using alternative energy and the latest green technology. Homes can be one-story or two-story. This is an intergenerational community of diverse couples and singles.
Our common house faces the creek, with both a screened porch and deck overlooking the creek and green belt. In addition to a large kitchen and dining area, the common house includes guest rooms, arts and crafts room, children's play room, library, meeting room, and more. Our common features include a community garden, workshop, and children's outdoor play area.
Jim Sargent, our nationally-acclaimed builder, was chosen by the Department of Energy as the Builder of the Year for his energy-efficient homes and by the National Association of Homebuilders as the builder of the “best green concept home in America.”
Each member participates in the design of his or her own home and in all the common facilities.
We meet weekly for either a business meeting or a monthly social. Visitors are welcome.
