Oasis Avenue Cooperative
New York,
United States
(Greater Capital District)
Mr. & Mrs. Anthony L. Segretto - December Baha'i Wedding
In 2009-2010, we established a core group of Board Members.
*Karen Segretto
*Anthony Segretto
*Yevette Handson
*Sheldon Carnes
*Linnea Hartmark
Our group also generated goals for beginning the process of its establishment.
In 2010-2011: (See goals at bottom, under meeting discussion items.)
Cooperative MISSION:
This cooperative is open to raw vegans, vegans, vegetarians & macrobiotics, because of the tremendous benefits available from living with others sharing these lifestyles.
We plan to explore alternative energy production for our facilities.
Our goals include a Wellness Center to be constructed for community income & to make wellness services available for community members.
Homes on the property shall be as GREEN as possible. Karen Segretto holds a professional degree in Architecture & will coordinate group efforts for designs.
We also plan to construct a root cellar for keeping produce from our gardens throughout the winter. It is essential that we strive to be as self-sufficient as possible. We may also consider opening a portion of our land to the public for a Community Garden Project.
Most importantly, the key goals of this community will be to welcome peaceful, eco-friendly neighbors from the raw vegan/vegan/vegetarian/macrobiotic society. Members will be expected to make equal contributions to the financial needs of the community... A COOPERATIVE EFFORT! :) **We are NOT meat-eater-haters! We welcome anyone of any diet, as long as they are willing to refrain from bringing any meat into the community.**
Ideally, there will be a main road into the village & other pathways for walking/cycling. We may also find a way to keep ski/snowboard slopes. The community hopes to also share vehicles, ideally with alternative fuel engines.
Ideally, we would like to attract some folks with skills in: Holistic Medicine, gymnastics trainer, ski/snowboard instructor, tradesmen, chefs, gardeners, etc.
