The Alchemical Nursery Project
Syracuse, New York,
United States
(Also, CoWorking Office Location within the Gear Factory)
The Alchemical Nursery Project is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the development of sustainable urban lifestyles and landscapes. Our strategy for urban ecovillage development is to create a Permaculture Trades School and Green Trades Association through the development of a neighborhood-based village economy and an ecologically sustainable infrastructure. We will accomplish this through green job creation and entrepreneurship that will include direct employment through ANP-created business programming as well as the provision of resources and opportunities to grow autonomous cottage industries and cooperatives, leading to the creation of a new local economy.
In addition, we have developed our website to serve as an online clearing-house of information and a social networking space for those interested in promoting and building sustainable cities. Online, people can create their own profiles and "meet" each other, upload files such as pertinent research articles and papers they have written to share with others, participate in the discussion forums, browse our links section, and learn more about what The Alchemical Nursery Project is up to. This is the premier website for people specifically interested in the movement for sustainable cities. Join us online at www.alchemicalnursery.org.
Status: We are currently in the process of acquiring our first house for the urban ecovillage, which will also be the first property in our urban land trust and will serve as the city-wide community gardening network and urban CSA base of operations!!!
