Carolina Common Well
Efland, North Carolina,
United States
(West of Durham-Raleigh-Chapel Hill)
Carolina Common Well seeks people with appropriate skill sets and resources to establish an agricultural-based ecovillage located west of the Research Triangle Park area. We are located approximately 10 minutes west of Chapel Hill in the Efland area. Of the over 100 acre parcel we have identified, the community will own between 20 and 30 acres with the remainder being placed in a woodland and farmland trust.
We have completed our visioning process and written our vision, mission and membership documents and begun recruitment. We envision growing a community to somewhere between 36 and 100 people. The size of the community will depend upon the carrying capacity of the land. As of this writing we are in the process of site planning using permaculture, bioharmony and other sustainable principles.
  Status: Currently recruiting members.
