611 Ecovillage
Oakland, California,
United States
We are an urban, inner-city ecovillage in the heart of Oakland's historic corridor. We emphasize sustainable living within the constraints of an urban environment and use the permaculture principle that "the problem is the solution." Because of our busy urban lifestyle, we have created a "semi-collective" structure that allows us to share food and chores, practice consensus decision making, and have the flexibility to pursue our interests outside the home. Two homes function as one larger home, shared by a courtyard with lush vegetation and a solar-heated hot tub. The 611 Ecovillage is an urban oasis.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW HOUSEMATES AND PEOPLE WHO WANT TO CO-OWN THE 611 ECOVILLAGE! Now is an excellent time to move in as a renter and to explore the options for shared ownership. Please email or contact Dan Antonioli.
