 Lórien is a central-living project located in the Gaume region, close to Arlon, in the southeast of the Belgian Ardennes.
La Gaume, which is sometimes referred to as the Belgian Provence, is a beautiful, tranquil region with a rich history.
We are eight open-minded people (five adults and three children) who have in common ecological and humanistic views.
The domain (1.4 hectares) is located on the outskirts of a tiny village called Poncelle, surrounded by fields and woods. The buildings of the site were meant to become a home for the elderly, and can easily be finished by ecological means.
We are organized in an association of proprietors. This means that we fully own our homes and private gardens, and that we share possession of common parts.
The building licenses have been granted. The homes, which vary between 63 sq meters and 220 sq meters, are available and ready for sale. Two homes are halfway done, the others have walls and roofs.
A common house is in the making; between the buildings are the private gardens and common inner gardens connecting the homes. At the back of the domain there is a big yard and room for a vegetable garden.
Along the road lies the foundation of a building 520 sq meters in surface area that can be used for different purposes, including commercial. It is parceled out with a garden, and can be acquired within or outside the proprietors’ association.
Lórien and its surroundings offer a superb place to grow up, thanks to nature, the peace, the many possible sports and cultural activities, and the friendly and welcoming nature of the Gaumais. There is a train station eight kilometers away in direct connection with Bruxelles and the GD of Luxemburg; eight kilometers down the road there is a nice experience-based Freinet school; and after a 15-minute drive you reach the highway. All these reasons make Lórien also suitable for a holiday residence.
Our purpose is to create a place where we all feel at home. We are looking for people to help accomplish this. Interested? Call or write.
