Deep in the Forest
We are a vegetarian, nondenominational community with roots in several spiritual teachings. We honor the truths that run through all religions. We seek to live simply, ecologically, and in harmony with all life. We are a mystical order called the Order of the Trees. We have men and women, single and married. We live on 80 acres in the South Oregon National Forest. Our main activities are gardening, working with horses, and maintaining the facilities—homes, dining hall, bathhouse, stable, barn, and greenhouse. We are working toward self-sufficiency. We are off grid and produce our own heat, hot water, and electricity. Our public outreach is to provide retreat facilities, camping and cottages, and publications on health, vegetarianism, and spiritual development.
Our lifestyle does not include TV, radio, or newspapers, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or caffeine.
Our land is verdant and lush, with forest and meadow and springs and a river. Our climate is mild.
We are happy, fun-loving, and positive people who want to share our community with like-minded people who love to work and grow with others.
We welcome those interested in living a simple vegetarian life in the forest.
