This is a group for people looking to start a physical community for old-fashioned Christians who want to live off the land. The community will be Anabaptist in nature, with lifestyle, clothing, etc from the 1800s. An acceptance of the Dordrecht Confession of Faith is NECESSARY (just a basic collection of beliefs that match what the Bible teaches; obviously I am focused on the Bible itself, I just want everyone to understand what I mean by common beliefs.)

Here is a list of things to consider before joining the community:

~will be located in Nova Scotia, Canada (lots of rural, fertile land here)

~God-given gender roles are followed

~organic farming/environmentally friendly community (raise all food for ourselves-we eat what we grow and eat seasonally. We might sell a few items to locals)

~KJV-only, English speaking village

~God is the foundation of the community, not just the church (we have God in our minds and encompassing our lives every second of every day, not just on Sundays).

~community is closed for residence to the select few who share our ideals (it is about quality, not quantity)

~there will be no cars, electricity, or any modern technology including computers, farm equipment etc

~houses will be old-style, either cob or log or old fashioned farm houses

~clothing will be old-fashioned: simple farm clothes from the 1800s or something similar (not necessarily plain, but oldfashioned and not fancy)

~a mixture of homeschooling & unschooling for the children

~quiver-full mindset (only God can choose how large or small a family is)

~old skills will be used: candle/soap making, canning, sewing by hand, etc

~alternative medicine is used (natural childbirth-at home with midwives, no vaccinations, natural medical treatments, herbal remedies, etc)

Visitor Process: If someone is considering joining and agrees with everything that we do, you can come to the community and talk to us. Right now, we are doing things online since we have not formed the community yet. The option of physically coming to see us only applies once we have formed and gotten rid of our computers (it will be noted here when that happens.)

Population Open to new adults: Yes Open to new children: Yes Open to which gender(s): All genders welcome Age Focus: No Focus Age Restrictions: No	Government Decision Making: By the community leader (Our decisions will be made with what is intune with the Bible.) Identified Leader: Yes (God is the leader of our group; however, once we find a preacher to spiritually lead our community, he will be the "leader" as long as he always stays true to what the Bible teaches.)	Labor and Money Financial Style: Partial income sharing (The land will belong to the community as a whole (to prevent people from moving and selling to someone else). We will follow more of a socialist lifestyle (from each according to his ability, to each according to his need).) Labor Contribution: Expected (Of course everyone is naturally expected to contribute. All will work in the community only, probably on the farms. Other jobs may also be necessary for the running of our community.) Join Fee: No (Not a set fee, but all need to contribute financially since the land has and equipment has not yet been purchased.) Regular Fees: No Answer (This is more of a socialist community. We will all have our own homes and kitchens, but all are required to help out in whatever way we can. Money is of little importance to us in our community, but what we get from selling produce/etc to locals will be shared by the entire community.)
Land and Buildings Rural Land Owned By: The community (The community as a whole owns the land (it is not individally owned!)) Cohousing: No (Each family will have their individual home.)	Food, etc. Percentage of Food Grown: over 50% (Hopefully we will be able to grow and raise all or the vast majority of our food.) Share Community Meals: 1 time/week (After church on Sundays, and on special occassions.) Dietary Choice or Restrictions: We all share a common diet (We all eat our own grown/raised food (local/organic)) Dietary Practice: Omnivorous Alcohol Use: Prohibited Tobacco Use: Prohibited	Social Factors Open to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender members: No (We believe are people are of equal worth, but we believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible which condones only heterosexual relationships.) Restrictions on Romantic Relationships (between consenting adults): Yes (Only short courtship/engagement before marriage. Nothing inappropriate or pre-marital is welcome) Shared Spiritual Path: Yes (Yes we are Conserative Christian with strong Anabaptist leanings) Which Spiritual Path(s): Protestant/Lutheran (Anabaptist leanings) Educational Style(s): Home schooling (A mixture of homeschooling and unschooling will be followed; teaching what is necessary for our community and what is intune with our beliefs.)
