Ballintaggart on the Atherton Tableland
Malanda, Queensland,
Australia
helicopter view
 Greetings from Northeastern Australia.
Ballintaggart is a tropical paradise with 40 hectares of rainforest, 40 hectares of pasture, and three hectares of mixed-species native plantations. The property looks over the beautiful Atherton Tableland, and is surrounded on three sides by world heritage rainforest.
Ballintaggart is within 100 kilometres of Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef, the Outback, deserted beaches and islands. There are lots of rainforest walks and waterfalls locally.
We have established an intentional community focussed on becoming more self-sufficient in water, food, energy, joy and laughter.
At present we have eight resident members.
We appreciate that vibrant and nurturing communities don't happen by chance and we want to find more capable and compatible community members. We are putting in place appropriate governance processes to ensure that our shared community is as beautiful as its location. Interested people can visit Ballintaggart to get a feel for life here and ask questions and learn more about the people and place.
We presently integrate a number of appropriate resource management disciplines and wisdoms, including traditional knowledge, holistic management, permaculture, biodynamics, quantum agriculture, and many other earth magics, to develop new ecologically friendly enterprises based on our unique biological and cultural diversity.
We would love to hear from potential community members.
All the very best with your search for community.

Atherton plateau takes its name from a variety of plain or levels. Covered with rolling hills, valleys, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and thick rainforests. Due to high 400 to 1100 meters above sea level,is a tropical paradise, and there is no moisture coast. There are different, such as waterfalls Mungalli, Malanda Falls, Souita, Pepin, Ellinjaa, Zilla, Dinner Falls, Little Millstream, Millstream Falls and the list goes on. Windy Hill near Ravenshoe is another popular attraction and a large power generation turbines dotted the hills - a scary place, a foggy morning.
