Safe Haven
Spring City, Utah,
United States
Safe Haven is a forming intentional community nestled in a valley in Central Utah.
Community members enjoy the following benefits:
Emergency - It’s primary purpose is to ensure a safe place to go in times of upheaval. There will be a community center stocked with emergency supplies, food and water. It is hidden from main roads and can only be entered by walking. Structures will generate their own electricity. There is plenty of game in the area for food and plenty of dead wood to burn for extra heat. There is a spring on the site which will be routed to a cistern.
Recreation- Members can visit and stay at the community center all year round. These mountains are high enough to be considered mountains yet low enough to have limited snowfall in the winter. There is plenty of wildlife in the area for hunting.
Residence- Those who would like to live full time at Safe Haven may either build homes and/or be stewards of the community center. Those who contribute a significant amount of resources (Cash, labor, trade) will be given rights to a plot.
Healing Center- The property and community center will be dedicated to the healing arts with seminars and ongoing workshops to teach and facilitate healing, physically and spiritually.
Spirituality- The community members are primarily from a Christian backgroud and mix other spiritual practiceswithin their scope and are open to all practices that promote spiritual growth. (eastern meditation, native american sweatlodges, etc.)
Gardens- There will be an outdoors community garden during the growing season and green house during the winter.
Leadership- Concensus
Water- Well
Structures- Off grid and naturally built. The Earthbag, cob, Hobit and cave homes.
