CAREN GARDENS
Nairobi, Nairobi,
Kenya
CAREN GARDEN is a farm in Kenya that houses an intentional community of 20 people who are working towards sustainability, simplicity, spirit, and training English, and who are wishing to share their aim with others, especially in the rural-based area here in Kenya. My farm is based around Lake Victoria. This farm building at my home has been converted into a low-cost hostel, ideal for groups of up to ten people, but also offers grounds where tourists can pitch there tents.
We have orphans within the farm; I keep goats and cows; there are community-based activities like hill climbing, fishing, and boat paddling; games are also available. All tourists and travelers coming to Kenya will have a humble stay with me because we will serve you with real African dishes. Bring sleeping bags only if you can but it is not a must; we provide blankets.
Meals will be provided and you will only be required to contribute some little fee towards purchase of food. I will receive you at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Visitors will not spend any monies in hotels; instead, I'll organize for home-stay programmes while you are in Nairobi.
Status: still ongoing as a group

Visitor Process: Visitors should just contact us by email, giving us a month or two weeks before they come. We will receive all visitors at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Upon that, we will organize a home-stay for them in Nairobi. During this time they will visit various tourist attraction sites in Nairobi. For those interested in going to Maasai Mara and other places, we will organize that.
