Wildflower Village (N. Texas Elder Cohousing)
Duncanville, Dallas County, Texas,
United States
(We own our land of 6 Acres - 30 Homes)
Common House
We are an ecologically economic community of cohousing for seniors in southwest Dallas County, Texas. We are using the Denmark model of cohousing.
We now have our location, and the land has been closed on. The location is at Venice Drive and West Wheatland in Duncanville, Texas 75116. It is a beautiful six acres facing a rolling, treed park and within walking distance of restaurants, groceries, doctors, etc.
Duncanville has a great senior center, women's club, and exercise opportunities.
We will have 30 homes. WE ARE RESERVING ONE UNIT JUST FOR Y O U.
We are offering a pre-development incentive plan for the first few members. Find out how that can help you reduce the cost of your home.
We have been meeting since January 2007, but you can still come and help make design decisions.
Our values are based on the inherent worth and dignity of all humans and the preservation of the land for which we are stewards. We will all be trying to lighten our footsteps on the earth through green and sustainable living.
Our current estimate for moving in is December 2009. There will be several floor plans. We will have four homes of 1500 sq ft, 13 units of 900 sq ft, and 13 homes of 1200 sq ft. Our price goal for our homes is between $130,000 for 900 to 1000 sq ft and $187,000 for 1500 sq ft.
