Occoneechee Village is an Indigenous Tribal Community. An Indigenous tribal community is a group of indigenous families working to return to the Indigenous Way. The journey may take several generations. We are starting with shared ownership of land, real estate and equipment where we live together nurturing family and raising children, creating wealth in all forms. We live and work together, creating and flowing wealth together via a clan (team) system and internal tribal economies.
We community school our children and are working our way back towards natural learning. We are relearning our language, ceremonies and culture as we work to return to the hoop of life. We grow our own food naturally and produce our own energy sources sustainably, and build our own housing and structures naturally and sustainably.
We are striving to return to living in the Indigenous Way, naturally, spiritually and in harmony with Mother Earth and at one with the Creator as our ancestors did prior to the 1492 invasion and holocaust. We are working to build an ever expanding network of interconnected and interdependent indigenous communities, returning all of Turtle Island to the indigenous Way. We are looking to help fulfill the prophecies of our ancestors and reclaim the natural way of living for humanity.
We also partner with intentional communities of non-indigenous people and work to help non-indigenous people create communities and return to the Indigenous Way. See our website: www.indigenousway.net
"Those who cannot celebrate the change and the coming of the new dispensation will drop dead from their own fear" "Those who return to the ways given to us in the original teachings, and live a natural way of life will not be touched by the coming of the Purifier. They will survive and build the new world." Hopi Prophecy.
