Turtle Village Project
Groton, New York,
United States
We are a couple (late 30's/early 40's) with three kids (ages 2, 7, 10). We also have an adult daughter who lives nearby and a mother-in-law who visits and helps out frequently. We own a large renovated barn that we have used as our dwelling and as a B&B for the last 8 years. We also have 6 acres which includes a tipi campground, a communal bathhouse, a barn, gardens, trails, a small stream and a meadow. We have two goats, 10 chickens and a turkey named Stella. We also have two dogs and three cats. OUR VISION is to lead more authentic and meaningful lives that connect more with one another and within community with other families. We hope to move into a yurt and find three other families that want to do the same. Our yurt village will use the bathhouse and the "Big House" for communal living and for communal businesses that we come up with together. We also want to home school and would love to do so in community with others. We want to transform our lives and want to find others that want the same! We are investigating different community formation ideas but we would like to co-own this amazing place and share our lives, the bills, the work, and hopefully the profits of our collective businesses here. If you are interested please call us immediately at 607-838-3492. We are ready to make our dreams come true!
