The Dodge Farm Community currently consists of a parcel of 240 acres of land in Berlin Vermont as well as 5 interested, active participants with the common goal of the formation of a cohousing development. The site is the former location of George Dodge’s farm and includes a large historical barn, rolling pastures and hayfields, and beautiful forests.
We are currently attempting to generate interest at the local and national level. We are seeking individuals who would like to commit some time to pursuing financing, permitting, design and any number of other tasks which must be complete. The consummation of a co-housing development is a challenging process; however the rewards of watching one’s dreams come to fruition make it worthwhile.
Our long-term goals will culminate in the creation of a community of similar minded individuals living together in harmony with each other and their surroundings. The community will be self financed and self governing and thus free to grow and change as the individuals making up the community desire.
We encourage comments from those who have first hand experience with a community so that others may benefit from your experience.
