Casa Milagro
Santa Fe, New Mexico,
United States
Stella, one of Casa Milagro's honored animal companions.
Casa Milagro is a 12-member therapeutic community of artists with co-occurring mental illnesses. We are situated in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains with beautiful views. The supportive services provided at Casa Milagro are holistic in nature to focus on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. While emphasizing diversity and the individual strengths of each resident, we encourage the spirit of a self-sustaining community.
Casa Milagro members communicate openly, peacefully, and with complete respect for one another. We develop loving and caring relationships with each other that are integral to the workings of the community and to our personal growth and healing.
We find involvement with nature important to our wellbeing. We have cherished relationships with our companion animals. As literary artists, visual artists, intellectuals, and craftspeople, expression is central to our ways of life.
Daily life at Casa Milagro involves playing with and caring for companion animals, creating multimedia art projects, attending college courses, meeting with counselors, cooking house meals, meditating, taking yoga classes, and hanging out with Casa Milagro community members.
Casa Milagro is limited to adults who qualify for SSI or SSDI and who meet HUD guidelines. We give priority to current New Mexico residents and to residents who need assistance with psychiatric medication. Our residents all need to be at least 2 years drug and alcohol free.
