We are now in site-search mode and open to new members. We had optioned a site, but a second consultant thought it was infeasible for the group's unit mix.
• We currently have 6 equity member households and 1 associate household.
• We are seeking a site in the urban East Bay (SF Bay Area) near excellent public transportation in a walkable neighborhood. Because of the housing market, we expect to buy an apartment building that's "cohousing friendly" and move in as tenants move out and then retrofit the building.
• We are interested in energy-efficient, sustainable design, and affordability.
• We expect unit sizes to range from studios to 3-4 bedrooms with common areas for dining and meeting, guest facilities, outdoor patios, shared laundry, children's play areas, etc.
• We are a multigenerational group committed to collaboration, diversity, good communication, consensus decision-making, and respect for each other, for the earth, and for all who live on it.
• To find out more and contact the group, send an email to NOCJoin@yahoogroups.com.
