Wild Cat Creek Ecovillage
Calhoun County, 6 miles east of Bluntstown on highway 20, Florida,
United States
 Mission: It is our desire to facilitate the creation of a community that honors all forms of life and promotes a lifestyle that minimizes human impact on the earth's resources.
Vision: The community will engage its human members in the spiritual process, realizing it's all connected, it's all alive, it's all intelligent, and it's all relatives. This spiritual connection will guide us through each phase of community development: food production, home building, music, laughter, and dance.
Community Objectives:
• Local organic food production of chemical-free, non-genetically modified food;
• Ecological building emphasizing small, “green,” sustainably built structures;
• Renewable energy systems: solar, micro-hydro, biodiesel, wind, etc.;
• Cooperative social economies: shared resources, bartering, local currency;
• Inclusive decision-making processes with community participatory leadership;
• Cultural and spiritual diversity (with an emphasis on yoga, meditation, dance, etc.);
• Global networking: communicating and collaborating with others worldwide,
• Holistic and whole person education including sharing knowledge and wisdom with others: (permaculture, composting, green building, eco-design, earth spirituality, etc.);
• Community/individual ownership: personal quarter-acre parcels, remaining land jointly and equally owned;
• Honoring elders and children: community structured to promote safe play for old and young;
• Handicap accessible;
• Numerous play areas;
• Meditation and wildlife viewing;
• Sustainable travel and transportation: community-owed vehicles (biodiesel) hybrids for travel;
• Walking/biking on site; and
• Mindfulness and living in the present: leisure time, human interaction, laughter, music, dance, and celebration.
Financial requirements: The initial cost of the land purchase, survey, deed, lawyers, etc. is $161,412.25. Ten quarter-acre lots will be sold for $18-22,000 depending on proximity to creek. Home construction costs are up to each lot owner. Total sales of $200,000 will pay for the land and the remaining will be invested in infrastructure, such as solar well, common kitchen, recreation facilities, education/library facility, roads, etc.
