Lotus Lodge is a unique cohousing/collaborative household rental community of about 10 members who highly value personal growth. We are located on 2.5 acres of land with stream, pond, gardens, deck, fire circle, and wonderful old trees—yet are just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, North Carolina, in a semi-rural area. There are two buildings on the property—a duplex with two two-bedroom apartments and a large two-story home remodeled into three full apartments plus a library, gathering room for movie nights or workshops, and extra kitchen downstairs. Long-term rent for members ranges from $350 to $500 a room plus some utilities. High-speed wireless internet access is included.
We are a collection of diverse, unique, and interesting individuals most of whom are teachers, authors, facilitators, counselors, or life coaches. Residents tend to walk their talk, endeavoring to transform "buttons" rather than playing victim. Conflicts are seen as "obstitunities" for clearing and expanding personal awareness. Consequently, conversations are often rich sharings of spiritual inspiration, personal growth, gratitude, wisdom, joy, and laughter. There is little outward conflict.
Spiritual beliefs and practices are eclectic and generally relate to aligning with Spirit or higher Self and being conscious creators. The practice of life-affirming communication and positive use of one's imagination (out of the box) are highly valued, as are the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, Serge King, Goddard Neville, Byron Katie, Richard Bach and the "Co-Creative Science" of Machaelle Wright, among others.
Founded in 2004 by co-publishers of Spirit in the Smokies, Magazine of New Paradigm Living which was printed 1995 – 2007 (see www.spiritinthesmokies.com).
If you'd like to visit, you can rent a very nice, large, sunny room for about $70 a night or $350/week. Room includes wireless high-speed internet and kitchen access. We also offer individualized retreats for writers and anyone desiring to kick-start new life in their living. No pets or smoking. Call for availability @ 828-667-4343.
Note: If you are relocating to the area, we can refer you to a really good local real estate agent, even if you don't stay here. Also, we do not accept work in trade for living space rental. For more info, see Lotus Lodge ad on: www.livingnewstories.com Soon we'll have a site at: www.lotuslodge.com
