I am a current non-resident Steward at Uhuru, and I have been involved with Uhuru since May 2007. I am currently living in Colville, 23 miles northeast of Uhuru. I am returning to Uhuru this June, and the residents currently are a family of 7(2 adults,5 children), a couple, and ,my family of 5(2 adults,3 children). We Currently are members of the garden cooperative, and the chicken cooperative. If you would like to communicate, please call Uhuru at 509-738-4513, you can leave a message and they will call you on their dime. Also please view myspace, I and many other stewards, residents, and visitors are there too. Peace be with you! Oh! WE are planning a summer solistice gathering and a papercrete workshop for this summer.

I am currently an extended visitor at uhuru and love it here. As a guest and friend of this land over the last 10 years, i have seen the natural evolution of this community. The call for more intentional folks is open and ready to receive. There is a good infrastructure for the community, and bylaws and policies to be informed of. An informal phone interview is the first step to being a visitor. Bring your good work ethic, character, and openheart to realize the potentials. If you have pets, please inquire about the pet policy.
Peace be with you
