Our Sacred Place, Tacoma
We are a newly formed group of five families looking to purchase and retrofit a building in downtown Tacoma or the north-end neighborhood of Tacoma Washington. We are looking for five to seven families to join our group. Our core values are: to living simply and in harmony with our generous Mother Earth; celebrating our diversity as a society and within our community;and to be of service to others as a way to personal empowerment and a joyful life. Our vision includes a location that is convenient to public transportation and shops, large permaculture garden to provide for much of our food, perhaps chickens and a goat. We are planning to use Non-violent communication (or a similar process) to address tension within the groups and are seeking ways to provide rental units and/or subsidised mortgages. We plan to purchase in late 2009 and to develop a "sister comunity" with a nearby intentional community that is farming.
